David Tenenbaum Senior Consultant

David Tenenbaum is a seasoned consulting professional with established expertise in strategic assessment and financial valuation of intellectual property (IP) and other intangible assets in a wide range of litigation and transactional contexts.

David has extensive experience leading engagements that involve the preparation and evaluation of claims for economic loss in IP infringement litigation, including patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret matters. He assists clients with development and presentation of all facets of their damages position throughout the litigation lifecycle.

David also has extensive experience in valuation of IP and other intangible assets in a variety of transactional settings, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, bankruptcy and reorganization, licensing, and IP-backed insured lending. He has also conducted numerous valuation studies and authored reports to support clients’ tax planning and tax compliance positions. His focus in tax matters is determination of arm’s length compensation for related-party transactions involving IP rights, marketing intangibles, and professional services.

David built his expertise in IP infringement damages and IP valuation over a 20-plus-year career with the IP practice group of Charles River Associates and its predecessor entities, followed by a five-year tenure as Principal in the IP practice of Global Economics Group. Most recently, David served as head of Aon IP Solutions' financial valuation team in support of the firm’s insurance offerings. David’s financial valuation team at Aon evaluated well over one hundred IP-backed lending opportunities and was instrumental in securing insurance for over $2B in loans for over 30 companies seeking growth capital.

David has published articles and presented to professional groups (e.g., PLI, INTA, LES, AIPLA) addressing intangible asset valuation, financial reporting and taxation aspects of IP-rich transactions, and economic damages in IP litigation.

David holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology and a Master of Management with concentrations in Finance and Marketing from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
