Kevin Koharki is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the Daniels School of Business at Purdue University. He is a globally recognized expert in financial statement analysis, valuation, stock-based compensation, and credit rating agencies. His work has been featured in the top peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Outside of academia, Dr. Koharki is the founder of CAE Consulting, LLC, where he consults and advises organizations across industries and sectors. These include Fortune 100 companies, private equity firms, C-Suite executives, board members, family offices, among others. He specializes in ensuring that these organizations and groups maximize their ability to allocate capital effectively for the benefit of their stakeholders. Dr. Koharki turns “financial mindset” from a technical skill into a universal organizational capability by teaching people to think and speak in value. He helps teams articulate the financial impact of their work, communicate their decisions clearly to stakeholders, and allocate resources with confidence. This philosophy comes to life in his VALUE Framework, a practical roadmap that builds a shared financial language across the organization and enables smarter, faster, and more aligned decisions that drive impact.
Dr. Koharki has been a frequently featured contributor and podcast guest at notable outlets such as Harvard Business Review and The Wall Street Journal. His work has focused on the true costs of stock-based compensation and its impact on firm performance and valuation. In addition, Dr. Koharki presents his work at leading, invitation-only investment conferences across the globe. These conferences are hosted by some of the world’s most notable investors.
At Purdue, Dr. Koharki teaches financial statement analysis at the graduate level. In this course, students learn how to examine and adjust financial statements to determine their true economic performance, competitive advantage(s), as well as the valuation they deserve given these characteristics. He received his bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD degrees in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University.
