Max Galka Affiliate

Max Galka is an affiliate at Peregrine Economics specializing in blockchain forensics and digital asset valuation.

Mr. Galka has worked on some of the largest and most closely watched cases in the cryptocurrency industry. He has traced the movement of digital assets, identified who controls them, performed on-chain source-of-funds and counterparty analysis, and reconstructed financial statements from blockchain records. His investigations have uncovered market manipulation, misappropriation, money laundering, and other forms of malfeasance. He has also valued digital assets and decentralized finance positions, using pricing models, exchange data, and over-the-counter trades observed directly on the blockchain. He works with attorneys as both a consulting and a testifying expert.

He founded Elementus, a blockchain intelligence company, and served as its CEO for seven years. Its platform supported investigations, compliance and source-of-funds analysis for financial institutions, enterprises and government agencies, including the FBI and the Department of Defense. Max is the sole inventor on two U.S. patents related to blockchain forensic analysis.

Before Elementus, Mr. Galka traded mortgage derivatives and insurance-linked securities at Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank, where he built pricing and risk models. He holds bachelor's degrees in Economics from the Wharton School and in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania's engineering school, and he taught databases and data analysis there as an adjunct lecturer.
