Michael Parker

Michael Parker is a fully accredited actuary and affiliate expert at Peregrine Economics specializing in the area of life insurance. 

He earned his BS in Mathematics at the University of North Carolina.  After working early in his career at Western & Southern Financial Group, Michael moved to Jefferson Pilot Life Insurance Company, and then to Lincoln Financial Group, where he was ultimately Senior Vice President, heading all Life Insurance product management.  While at Lincoln, Michael presided over the development of Lincoln’s life insurance product suite, as well as the management of all in-force business.  He is intimately familiar with the products that have been developed and sold during the last 30 years.  Michael also has in depth knowledge of the key regulatory and legal issues involving life insurance, including reserving regulation interpretation, reserve financing, product illustration, unclaimed property requirements, stranger originated life insurance (STOLI), reinsurance premium litigation, and policyholder COI disputes. 

He has testified as an expert witness in several matters, including a case currently pending in federal court with potential damages exceeding $200 million.  The topics on which he has offered consulting services and expert testimony include life settlement portfolio valuation, business to business life insurance disputes, life insurance acquisitions and IRS gift taxing, among others.  Michael is currently in the late stages of finishing his PhD in Computational Statistics.
